Changes to Parking on Campus

Upcoming Changes to Parking

As we continually work towards improving the parking services on campus, we are excited to announce upcoming changes. We will be updating this page with more details. Below are previews of upcoming changes that will impact Faculty and Staff & Students:

Upcoming Changes to Parking

Free Parking Details

Please make use of our parking lots during break! Since demand is so low, we offer free parking.

  • Free parking begins on Saturday, December 20th, 2025
  • Permitted parking enforcement resumes on Tuesday, January 20th, 2026 at 8am.

(Parking is only allowed in regular parking spaces, unless a handicap placard, loading zone permit or Z space permit is displayed in vehicle. All other violations - fire lane, handicap, etc. are enforced 24/7/365.)

Campus Shuttle Location Sharing

We share the location of our shuttles on the UCCS Map page, which can be used by riders to estimate when a shuttle will arrive at a shuttle stop.

Single Day Permit Flexibility Expanding for Employees

Parking Permit Icon

Beginning Fall 2024, we will be offering “Permit Packs” for employees which allow for either 5 days or 16 days of parking that can be used any day of the semester. These permit packs will replace single day permits such as Monday only, Tuesday only, etc.  When the pack runs out of days, employees can simply order another pack. Permit packs do expire at the end of each semester and any unused days will be forfeited.

New Discount for Employee Permits

Beginning Fall 2024, employees making under $85,000/year will receive a 20% discount on all parking permits.

Perpetual Permits for Employees

Beginning Fall 2024, employee permits will no longer expire unless the employee returns the permit. Moving forward, employees will no longer need to repurchase permits each semester or year. Permits may still be charged to payroll deduction or to a credit card for recurring monthly payments.

Parking Services

As a self-funded auxiliary, we seek to provide services and products that meet the needs and expectations of students, faculty, staff, and visitors to campus. Parking Services charges only what is necessary to cover operating expenses. We continually work to create greater equity in parking and to better serve the UCCS community.
