Departments

Pay Station Coupon Code (one-time use code)

  • A department can either pay for a guest’s parking at a 50% discount or can pass the 50% discount on to their guest.
  • Since each code can only be used once, this is best for departments that rarely have visitors with parking needs.
  • The guest enters the code into a pay station to park.
  • Pro: Since code expires and cannot be used again, this option eliminates abuse of the code by others if code is given out to non-authorized people.

  • Con: As each guest has a unique code, a lot more codes to have to manage.

  1. The Department provides Parking Services a Speedtype (if department is paying for their guests).
  2. Parking Services generates a unique discount code(s) per guest and provides it to the department.
  3. The code(s) given is a one-time use code. Once a code is used it automatically expires and cannot ever be used again in the future.
  4. Department gives the code to their guest(s).
  5. When the guest arrives, they park near one of the following pay stations and enter the provided code into the pay station when prompted to do so:
    • Lot 220 (near Cragmor Hall)
    • Level 3 of Gateway Garage (3 stations on this level)
    • Level 1 of Alpine Garage
  6. F. The guest will be asked if they want hourly parking or all-day parking. Hourly parking is 1-4 hours. All day parking is 5+ hours. The Department advises their guest how many hours to choose. The discounted hourly fee for guest parking is $1.25 per hour, or $6.25 for all day (5+ hours). The discounted rate can be billed to the department (we will complete the JE at the end of each month), can be paid by the guest, or the discounted hourly rate can be split between the guest and the department.
  7. Once the guest enters the number of hours, their license plate and their coupon code, they may move their vehicle to any regular space on campus except the employee-only 300 series lots (small lots behind Engineering, UC, Dwire, Main Hall).
  8. At the end of each month, departments that have chosen to pay for their guest parking will be charged (through a JE) for any uses of the code.

Pay Station Coupon Code (monthly code)

  • A department can either pay for a guest’s parking at a 50% discount or can pass the 50% discount on to their guest.
  • These codes can be used numerous times throughout the month, so this is best for departments that often have visitors with parking needs.
  • The guest enters the code into a pay station to park.
  • Pro: Only have to hand out one code to each guest every month.

  • Con: If code is leaked to non-authorized people, the department would be responsible for paying for these non-authorized uses.

  1. The UCCS Department provides UCCS Parking Services a Speedtype (if department is paying for their guests).
  2. Parking Services generates one unique code per month for an entire calendar year and provides these monthly codes to the department.
  3. Department gives the code to their guest(s). Example: All guests in April will need to use April’s code of ABC125.
  6. Once the guest enters the number of hours, their license plate and their coupon code, they may move their vehicle to any regular space on campus except the employee-only 300 series lots (small lots behind Engineering, UC, Dwire, Main Hall).
  7. At the end of each month, any uses of the monthly code will be billed (JE’d) to the department provided Speedtype.
  8. Pro: Only have to hand out one code to all guests each month. Con: If code is leaked to non-authorized people, the department would be responsible for paying for these non-authorized uses.

Virtual Day Pass

  • A department can pay for a guest's parking at a 50% discount.
  • The department will get a special login to the Parking Portal and use that to purchase day passes for guests as needed.
  • The guest only needs to provide their license plate to the department - the department then purchases the pass for them.
  • Pro: Eliminates need to have guest find a pay station. All guest has to do is provide department their license plate and then park on the day of the event.

  • Con: Only available as a day pass. Must pay $6.25 for all day rather than $1.25 per hour.
Also, a little more labor intensive for department to have to get plate from guest ahead of parking and purchase the day pass for their guest.

  1. The UCCS Department provides UCCS Parking Services a Speedtype.
  2. Parking Services creates (one-time set up) a UCCS Department group account in T2 Parking Portal and provides the department with a user name and password. Parking Services enters the department Speedtype into account so any future purchases will be charged to the department once per month.
  3. Department gathers guest(s) license plate number(s) and logs into the parking portal using the department group account.
  4. Department “purchases” a one day “virtual day pass” for each guest. One pass per guest license plate. Virtual day pass in valid an entire day for the date selected. The department enters the guest license plate information when purchasing the permit. All passes purchased during a month will be billed at the end of each month to the department’s Speedtype at $6.25 per pass.
  5. When purchasing a guest permit, the department will be asked for what date the virtual day pass will be valid. Departments can enter the current date or any date in the future.
  6. Once the permit is purchased in the parking portal, their license plate and their coupon code, they may move their vehicle to any regular space on campus except the employee-only 300 series lots (small lots behind Engineering, UC, Dwire, Main Hall).

ParkMobile Event Code

  • For events only: A department can either pay for event guests’ parking at a 50% discount or can pass the 50% discount on to their event guests.
  • An “event” will be created that can be accessed through the ParkMobile website or app. Each event will have a unique access code provided to the host department.
  • Guests can reserve parking in advance for an event through the ParkMobile website or app by using the unique access code.
  • Pro: Guest can register for the permit days, weeks, or months prior to the event.

  • Con: If guest brings different vehicle than what they registered through Parkmobile, they will likely receive a parking citation.

  1. The UCCS Department provides UCCS Parking Services a Speedtype (if department is paying for their guest).
  2. Parking Services works with Parkmobile to generate a discount code(s) for the event.
  3. Department gives the code to their guest(s).
  4. Guest logs into a website and enters code and their license plate number.
  5. Either guest pays the discounted hourly rate or the department can pay the discounted hourly rate so that when the guest enters the code, parking appears free to the guest.
  6. Once the guest registers in Parkmobile, the guest simply parks in any of the parking lots reserved for the event during the hours of the event.

Day Pass Hang Tag

  • A department can pay for a guest’s parking at a 50% discount.
  • The department purchases physical hang tags that are good for one use. Then the department distributes the hang tags to guests as needed.
  • Pro:

  • Con: The hang tag must be fully visible so that the month, day, and year can be seen from the front of the vehicle.
As this option does not utilize our License Plate Recognition (LPR) system, this type of guest parking registration is not efficient and thus will rarely be approved.

  1. The UCCS Department provides UCCS Parking Services a Speedtype and requests a certain number of hang tags.
  2. Parking Services will deliver the hang tags to the department. The charge per hang tag is $6.25.
  3. The department sends the hang tag to their guest prior to the event. The department should scratch off the month, day, and year the permit will be valid prior to sending the permit to their guest.
  4. The guest hangs the tag on their rearview mirror on the day of the event and parks in any regular space on campus except the employee-only 300 series lots (small lots behind Engineering, UC, Dwire, Main Hall).
  5. The hang tag must be fully visible so that the month, day, and year can be seen from the front of the vehicle. If the date cannot be seen or if the date wasn’t scratched off, the guest will likely receive a parking citation.
  6. As this option does not utilize our License Plate Recognition (LPR) system, this type of guest parking registration is not efficient and thus will rarely be approved.

Do Not Ticket (DNT)

  • A department can pay for all guest parking for an event at a 50% discount.
  • The requested parking lot/s will not be patrolled by parking enforcement for the duration of the event (no citations will be given, anyone may park for free).
  • Pro: No need for guest or department to enter a license plate of guest(s).

  • Con: Parking Services is not able to enforce violations for any vehicles in the lot(s) during the times of the DNT.

  1. The UCCS Department provides UCCS Parking Services a Speedtype (if department is paying for their guests).
  2. Parking Services charges (through a JE) the department for the number of estimated guest vehicles that will park during the event using the $1.25 per hour/ $6.25 per day discounted price.
  3. Parking Services identifies a lot(s) that guests will need to park and the department communicates location of lot(s) for their guests to park at.
  4. Guests park in the designated lot(s) and no permit enforcement will be conducted in that lot(s) during the event.
  5. As this option does not utilize our License Plate Recognition (LPR) system, this type of guest parking registration is not efficient and thus will rarely be approved.
