Z Permits & Z Spaces

The UCCS campus complies with all ADA requirements for accessible parking spaces. However, due to high demand, these spaces may occasionally be unavailable in certain lots. To help address this, UCCS offers a special Z Permit, which allows eligible individuals to park in designated Z spaces when ADA-compliant spaces are full or unavailable. These Z spaces are typically located near ADA spaces or at the front of parking lots but do not meet ADA standards for features such as ramps, slope, width, or loading zones.

If you have a valid state-issued ADA plate or placard and a valid UCCS parking permit for the lot or area where a Z space is located, you may use Z spaces only after submitting a completed Z Permit application. This includes signing a required waiver and attestation, which confirms that you understand these spaces are not ADA-compliant and that you agree to use them voluntarily. Your state-issued ADA plate or placard must be displayed at all times when parking in a Z space.

To apply for a Z permit (200-400 series lots) you must have a Central Campus permit. Please visit the Permits page to find an appropriate permit and log into the Parking Portal to purchase it.

Once you have a permit to park in the 200-400 series lots, submit the Z permit application. 

Once your Z Permit application has been submitted and approved, you'll be able to park in Z spaces in 200 - 400 series lots.

Lot 220: 2 Z Spaces
Lot 222: 3 Z Spaces
Lot 224: 4 Z Spaces
Lot 228: 2 Z Spaces
Lot 230: 1 Z Space
Lot 327: 1 Z Space (Under Construction)
Lot 434: 3 Z Spaces

To apply for a Z permit (100 series lots) you must have a Border permit or a Central Campus permit. Please visit the Permits page to find an appropriate permit and log into the Parking Portal to purchase it.

Once you have a permit to park in the 100 series lots, submit the Z permit application.

Once your Z Permit application has been submitted and approved, you'll be able to park in Z spaces in 100 series lots.
